So this is the first post of the next 2+ years of Alex Davidson and his mission experiences. We are excited for him and can't wait to share this great journey with all our family and friends.
This week we started the process of filling out the mission papers and fulfilling all of the requirements including physician (couple of shots and a TB test) and dentist (4 fillings) appointments. All of the forms can be filled out online now and they also ask for a picture of the prospective elder. Alex had his appointment with the Bishop on Friday morning so we were in a rush to try and get everything together. This is the picture we took before he met with the Bishop:
Handsome young man -- He knows. Anyways, he rushed off to his appointment with all requirements filled. . . . . . or so we thought.After his appointment and one scheduled with the Stake President for later that afternoon we recieved a phone call from the Bishop. Paperwork looked good everything was great . . . . except for that picture. Pres. Thomas wanted him in a suit coat, in the picture AND at the interview! So with a frantic call to Jeff, Alex also borrowed his suit coat and the following picture was taken:
Yes, that looks better. Now he is looking like a real missionary! The appointment with Pres. Thomas went well and all was approved and sent off to Church Headquarters on Friday. In two weeks he will have his mission call. So now the question we pose to you . . . . . . .
Where in the world will Arod serve is mission?

Isn't there like 500 + missions? and you want me to guess. I think he will go to Micronesia or Australia. But if he is really lucky he will serve in the Independence Missouri mission!!

I still think he is going to New York or right in that area. but he will definately go Spanish speaking.
I think that he is going to go to SAINT GEORGE Utah so his sister can still see him all the time!!!! :) No but on a real note i think that he will go to AFRICA or maybe JAMAICA or maybe RUSSIA or HAWAII somewhere fun like that!
Ok I think it will be Jamaica. Or maybe it will be that place where the Tongans come from! Hehehehehe. Love ya mom! Can't wait to see where you are going AROD. Gotta figure out that conference call thing so we all can be on the phone at the same time!
I think mom and dad need to get a web cam so everyone can watch this call being opened.LOL
